How is breast augmentation surgery performed?
Breast Augmentations are generally out-patient procedures performed with the use of general anesthesia, allowing you to return home within hours of the surgery (about 2 to 3 hours depending on the methods used). The three different ways in which a breast augmentation surgery is done are 1) by making the incision under the crease of the breast; 2) making the incision on the lower part of the areola; and 3) by hiding the incision within the armpit.

Which questions should I ask my breast augmentation surgeon?
Upon meeting with your plastic surgeon it is important to know which questions to ask, to make sure you will make the most of your consultation. Be sure to ask the following questions:

- Are you board certified in plastic surgery?
- How many breast augmentations have you performed?
- What are the risks involved with breast augmentation?
- What type of anesthesia will be used during my breast augmentation surgery?
- Who will administer the anesthesia?
- Where will the procedure be performed? Is the facility properly accredited?
- What results can I expect after my breast augmentation?
- How long does it take before I am fully recovered?

What are the costs for breast augmentation?
The costs for breast augmentation surgery may range depending on your individual needs. On the average however, you can expect breast augmentation surgery to range from $5,000 - $ 7,000, breast asymmetry surgery from $4,000 to $6,000, breast lift surgery from $5,000-$6,500, breast reduction surgery from $5,000-$7,000, and breast implant revision surgery from $5,000-$6,500 depending on the procedures performed.

How soon can I return back to work after breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation procedures, when performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, allow you to return to work within 2 to 3 days following your surgery. With breast reduction surgery and breast lift surgery, the period is 7 to 10 days. Breast asymmetry procedures normally allow you to go back to work in 3 to 5 days; and with a breast implant revision surgery, it will only be 2 to 3 days before you can safely return to work.
